Rain on Tuesday did not interfere with the exciting events on and off the golf course at TPC River Highlands, including Operation Shower and The Umbrella at 15 ½ Challenge.
Operation Shower Presented by ConnectiCare®, held in the David & Geri Epstein Learning Center, provided 40 expectant military mothers with several gifts they will need in the next chapter of their lives. The mothers-to-be were also served lunch and heard from several guest speakers.
At The Umbrella at 15 ½ Challenge, players tried to land shots on a floating red green in the shape of the Travelers umbrella logo for a chance to win $10,000 for the charity of their choice. Of the 60 players who participated, 23 placed their golf balls on the green. The winner will be announced on Wednesday.
Wednesday’s schedule is full, centered around the main event of the week – golf. The Travelers Celebrity Pro-Am takes place all day tomorrow, featuring a star-studded list of local and national celebrities including George Lopez, Ray Allen, Chris Berman, Nick Bonino, Dane DeHaan and more.
In the Stanley Black & Decker Fan Zone, the Dunkin’ Celebrity Mini Golf Tournament will take place tomorrow, with groups starting at 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. This year’s tournament will be hosted by actors Bridget Moynahan, Dane DeHaan and Anna Wood. The two winning teams each win $2,500 for the charity of their choice.
