ROCK BAND SURVIVOR, COUNTRY STAR TYLER FARR HEADLINE LIBERTY BANK CONCERT SERIES AT 2018 TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP
HARTFORD, Conn., June 1, 2018 – The Travelers Championship today announced that American rock band Survivor and country singer Tyler Farr will headline the Liberty Bank Concert Series at this year’s tournament. Survivor will perform Friday night and Tyler Farr will take the stage Saturday evening. Both concerts will take place in the Stanley Black & Decker Fan Zone at roughly 7 p.m., once the last golfer finishes play. Anyone with a tournament ticket valid for the day of the concert can attend.

Survivor released its first album in 1980, and had its first Top-40 hit the following year with “Poor Man’s Son.” The band’s big break came in 1982 when it was asked by Sylvester Stallone to provide the theme song for “Rocky III.”That single, “Eye of the Tiger,” hit No. 1 – staying there for seven weeks, winning a Grammy Award and a People’s Choice Award, while also earning Academy Award and Golden Globe nominations. The song came in at No. 18 on the “Top 100 Singles” chart in Billboard‘s 100th Anniversary issue and has topped the 7 million mark worldwide on iTunes. The band scored a hit as a result of another Stallone movie when “Burning Heart” appeared on the soundtrack of “Rocky IV” in 1985 and reached No. 2 on the singles chart.
Tyler Farr is an American country music singer and songwriter. In 2012, he released his debut single, “Hot Mess.” In 2013, he released three more singles from his debut album “Redneck Crazy” – “Hello Goodbye,” “Redneck Crazy,” which became his first Top-10 hit, and the Top-3 hit “Whiskey in My Water.” “Redneck Crazy” was a No. 2 Billboard Country Album debut and Top 5 Billboard Top 200 Album debut. Farr’s second album, “Suffer in Peace,” was released in 2014 and included the song “A Guy Walks Into a Bar,” which became his first No. 1 single on Billboard Country Airplay.
