KEEGAN BRADLEY COMMITS TO THE 2012 TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP
Hartford, Conn., March 21, 2012 – 2011 PGA Championship winner and New England native Keegan Bradley commits to play in the 2012 Travelers Championship. Bradley, who is originally from Woodstock, Vermont, will be making his second trip to TPC River Highlands this summer.
Bradley made the announcement about his commitment via his Twitter page:
Just committed to @TravelersChamp so excited to come back and play in New England! Great event. #redsoxgames
Bradley had an amazing rookie season last year, which included a victory at the 2011 PGA Championship in Atlanta and another win early in the year at the HP Byron Nelson Championship. His victory at Atlanta Athletic Club was the third time in history that a player was able to win a major championship in their first appearance. For all of his success last season, Bradley was named 2011 PGA TOUR Rookie of the Year.
He has continued his strong play into the start of the 2012 season, finishing in the top 25 in all eight of his starts. His best finish this season came at the Northern Trust Open, where he narrowly lost to Bill Haas in a three-way sudden death playoff that included Phil Mickelson.
Bradley joins Travelers Championship early commitments Fredrik Jacobson, Bubba Watson, Hunter Mahan, Vijay Singh, Anthony Kim, Padraig Harrington, Webb Simpson and Ian Poulter. The Travelers Championship is the PGA TOUR’s only early summer stop in the Northeast and will be held June 18 – 24, 2012, at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn. Tournament tickets are available now at TravelersChampionship.com.
