GOOSEN AND BADDELEY ADDED TO FIELD
RETIEF GOOSEN AND AARON BADDELEY COMMIT TO TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP FIELD
CROMWELL, Conn., June 17, 2010 – The Travelers Championship announced two more top players into the 2010 player field. Retief Goosen and Aaron Baddeley will be playing at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn. next week. Goosen will be making his first-ever trip to the Travelers Championship, while Baddeley will be making his sixth visit.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Retief to TPC River Highlands for the first time,” said Travelers Championship Tournament Director Nathan Grube. “Both he and Aaron are great additions to our field.”
Two-time U.S. Open Champion Retief Goosen has seven career victories on the PGA TOUR. He is currently ranked 17th in the Official World Golf Rankings with five top-10 finishes this season. His best result in 2010 came at the 2010 Sony Open where he finished fourth. Goosen is currently ranked 31st on the PGA TOUR money list and ranked 15th on the PGA TOUR career earnings list.
In less than eight seasons on the PGA TOUR, Aaron Baddeley has quickly become one of the top young golfers, earning more than $10 million before the age of 30. He has two career victories that include a win at the 2006 Verizon Heritage and the 2007 Waste Management Phoenix Open. Baddeley has made 9 of 12 cuts in 2010, with his best finish being a tie for third at the Valero Texas Open.
