EDWIN McCAIN AND THREE DOG NIGHT HEADLINE THE POWERSTATION EVENTS CONCERT SERIES AT THE TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP
HARTFORD, Conn., May 24, 2013 – Travelers Championship officials announced today that Edwin McCain and Three Dog Night will headline the Powerstation Events Concert Series during tournament week. Edwin McCain is scheduled to perform on Friday, June 21, and Three Dog Night is scheduled to play on Saturday, June 22. The concerts will begin at approximately 7 p.m. – soon after the last golfer of the day finishes his round – and will be held in the SUBWAY® Fan Zone located near the center of the course.
“With the support of Powerstation Events, we are excited to announce these musical acts coming to our event in 2013,” said Travelers Championship Tournament Director Nathan Grube. “Performances from Edwin McCain and Three Dog Night will provide a great end to a day full of golf. As with all of our events, these concerts will not only provide entertainment, but will also help raise additional funds for our charities.”
Fans can attend the Powerstation Events Concert Series by purchasing an Any One Day Ticket for $29 in advance, which provides access to the tournament and all of the entertainment throughout the day. Powerstation Events is the premier name in event entertainment and production in Connecticut. Since their humble beginnings in 1983, Powerstation Events has gone on to serve more than 20,000 various events of all different sizes and types throughout the state.
“The entire team here at Powerstation Events is thrilled to be returning as the title sponsor of the Concert Series at the Travelers Championship,” said Al Vagnini, president of Powerstation Events. “This year, as we celebrate our 30th anniversary in business, we appreciate more than ever the extreme dedication and effort it requires to put together high-level events such as the Travelers Championship, and we couldn’t be a more proud partner in that effort to support the tournament, the concert series and the many charities that the Travelers Championship supports.”
Platinum recording artist Edwin McCain has sold millions of albums, had several hit songs on the airwaves, and built an unwavering fan base that keeps him on the road. Before the success brought on by smash hits “I’ll Be,” “I Could Not Ask For More” and “Solitude,” McCain paid his dues by touring continuously. Nine albums later, he performs hundreds of concerts per year. McCain’s most recent album, entitled Mercy Bound, features artistic input from Angie Aparo, Mark Addison and Anders Osborne, as well as guitar work from Warren Haynes.
Legendary music icons, Three Dog Night, celebrate their fourth decade, bringing with them some of the most astonishing statistics in popular music. In the years 1969 through 1974, no other group achieved more top 10 hits, moved more records or sold more concert tickets than Three Dog Night.
Three Dog Night’s hits wind through the fabric of pop culture today, whether on the radio where they are heard day in and day out, in TV commercials or in major motion pictures — songs like “Mama Told Me (Not To Come),” “Joy to the World,” “Black and White,” “Shambala” and “One” serve to heighten listeners’ emotions and crystallize Three Dog Night’s continuing popularity.
To celebrate this announcement, the Travelers Championship is offering a special ticket package, “Music After Golf,” which will include four General Admission Tickets for $100. This offer will run through Sunday, June 2. To purchase this ticket package, please visit our ticket page or call 1-866-840-8821.
