DAY TWO AT THE TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP
Festivities at the Travelers Championship continued on day two as several events were held throughout the course to enhance fan experience and charity contribution.
In the First Tee of Connecticut building, Operation Shower and Birdies for the Brave threw a baby shower celebrating 40 military mothers-to-be and new moms. The event, which was cosponsored by Carousel Designs, “Extra,” and the Travelers Championship, was held in the First Tee Building yesterday morning and hosted by “Extra” correspondent and expectant mother Hilaria Thomas Baldwin. Baldwin thanked the women for their service and shared in their excitement about motherhood. Throughout the shower, the women were given several gifts, including baby bouncers and high chairs. To close the event, Travelers expressed their gratitude and announced they were gifting each mom a Peter Millar scarf and Maclaren Triumph stroller.
Down at the Practice Facility, Farmington Bank hosted the fifth annual Fan and Family Day featuring the Golf Digest Hot List Tour. Fans were able to test out the latest equipment from the best brands in golf. The Connecticut Section PGA also stepped in providing free 10-minute lessons to participants.
Out on the course, all eyes were on hole 15½. Throughout the day, each professional and their caddie were given a chance to test their wedge game at The Umbrella at 15 ½. The professional who landed the ball closest to the will receive $10,000 to the charity of their choice courtesy of Travelers. The winning caddy will receive $500. Both winners will be announced later on Wednesday.
