BIRDIES FOR CHARITY OFFERS ALL LOCAL NONPROFIT ORGANIZATIONS OPPORTUNITY TO RAISE MONEY THROUGH THE 2022 TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP
HARTFORD, Conn., June 3, 2022 – Charities still looking to get involved with the 2022 Travelers Championship to raise money for their organizations can register for the tournament’s Birdies for Charity program. Birdies for Charity awards a 15% bonus on every dollar raised by the organization thanks to the program’s presenting sponsor Webster Bank and the support of Enterprise. There is no cost to register and no minimum amount that organizations must raise to receive the 15% bonus. All funds must be raised by Sunday, June 26, and the money generated through Birdies for Charity goes directly to the organizations that participate. Once registered, the Travelers Championship provides nonprofits with materials to help solicit donations and handles all billing and administration.
Launched in 2004, Birdies for Charity provides every 501(c)3 in the region with an opportunity to raise awareness and funds for their cause. As the proud presenting sponsor for the third year, Webster Bank recognizes the program’s success and ensures that all organizations receive the 15% bonus.
“Thanks to Webster Bank, Birdies for Charity provides local nonprofits with an amazing platform to generate important funds for their missions,” said Nathan Grube, Travelers Championship Tournament Director. “Thousands of residents in our community rely on these organizations. Being involved with the Travelers Championship helps continue the important work and services these charities provide.”
“Supporting the communities where we live and work reflects Webster’s strong heritage of being a good corporate citizen,” said Chris Motl, Executive Vice President, Head of Commercial Banking at Webster. “We are proud to be a founding partner of the Travelers Championship and once again the presenting sponsor of the Birdies for Charity program, which helps so many organizations raise funds for important activities in their local communities.”
The Birdies for Charity program also provides a platform for local nonprofits to share their stories through a partnership with iHeartMedia. Renee Dinino, on-air personality for The River 105.9 and Director of Community Affairs & Programming at iHeartMedia continues to elevate the program by providing charity interviews throughout the fundraising season.
More than 100 local charities benefit from the tournament by participating in the program each year. Charities can sign up for Birdies for Charity by visiting TravelersChampionship.com/birdies-for-charity.
