DUSTIN JOHNSON AND MATT KUCHAR COMMIT TO 2014 TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP

HARTFORD, Conn., March 25, 2014 – Dustin Johnson and Matt Kuchar, two of golf’s most talented players, have committed to compete in the 2014 Travelers Championship at TPC River Highlands from June 16 to 22.

“We aim to host a competitive field each year so that fans can watch the game being played at the highest level. Adding two players of Dustin’s and Matt’s caliber not only allows our fans to see PGA TOUR stars but also ensures the quality of the competition,” said Travelers Championship Tournament Director Nathan Grube.

Dustin Johnson is in top form this season, currently ranked third in the FedExCup and ninth in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR). At this early point in the season, he already has five top-10 finishes in just six events, including a win at the World Golf Championships-HSBC Champions event and two second-place finishes at the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am and Northern Trust Open. Since turning professional in 2007, Johnson has been one of the best players on TOUR, amassing eight career wins, five second-place finishes, 41 top-10 finishes, and more than $23 million in career earnings. He has also gotten close in the major championships earning six top-10 finishes in six years. This is Johnson’s third appearance at the Travelers Championship.

Matt Kuchar has started the season strong with four top-10 finishes and is currently ranked No. 11 in the OWGR and No. 41 in the FedExCup. Over the past few years, Kuchar has been one of the TOUR’s most consistent players. Since 2010, Kuchar owns the most top-10 finishes on TOUR with 41 in 102 starts. In 2013 Kuchar had his best year on TOUR with two wins and two second-place finishes. Since turning professional in 2000, Kuchar has six TOUR wins, seven second-place finishes, and 61 top-10 finishes. Kuchar is making his eighth appearance at TPC River Highlands.

Johnson and Kuchar will join other top players, including Bubba Watson, Brandt Snedeker, Hunter Mahan, Patrick Reed, and reigning champion Ken Duke.
