Special ticket package includes two general admission tickets and a red golf umbrella for $65
CROMWELL, Conn., Feb. 10, 2014 – The Travelers Championship, Connecticut’s PGA TOUR event, announced that a special ticket package will go on sale today, Feb. 10, 2014, in honor of “National Umbrella Day,” which celebrates one of the world’s most convenient inventions. For $65, fans will receive two general admission tickets and a 62” TOUR-quality Travelers Championship golf umbrella, a package that retails for more than $100. Fans can take advantage of this special offer by purchasing tickets online at www.TravelersChampionship.com.
“We couldn’t think of a better occasion to hold this year’s first ticket promotion than during National Umbrella Day,” said Travelers Championship Tournament Director Nathan Grube. “The tournament will be here before you know it, and we want to give our fans opportunities to get their tickets early while taking advantage of a great deal in the process.”
The Travelers Championship chose National Umbrella Day for a ticket promotion because the holiday aligns closely with Travelers’ iconic red umbrella, the brand of the tournament’s title sponsor. During tournament week, there’s a large red umbrella green that floats in the pond between the 15th, 16th and 17th holes.
Preparation has already begun for the 2014 Travelers Championship, which will be held from June 16 to 22 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn. In addition to the special National Umbrella Day package, all tickets are available at www.TravelersChampionship.com.
