TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP ADDS PATRICK REED, LUKE DONALD, AND BRANDEN GRACE TO PLAYER FIELD

Top players continue to commit to play at 2015 tournament

HARTFORD, Conn., May 26, 2015 – The Travelers Championship today announced that Patrick Reed, Luke Donald, and Branden Grace will be playing in the 2015 Travelers Championship. These players join other top players including Bubba Watson, Jason Day, Sergio Garcia, Ernie Els, Zach Johnson, Brandt Snedeker, and reigning champion Kevin Streelman in the 2015 field.

“This is a very exciting announcement for us, as it features a former No. 1 player in the world, a rising European Tour star, and one of the top young Americans,” said Travelers Championship Tournament Director Nathan Grube. “We’re thrilled to welcome them to Connecticut and add them to our field which currently includes three of the top eight players in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR).”

Patrick Reed is off to a very strong start on the PGA TOUR this year, where he currently ranks No. 5 in the FedExCup and No. 15 in the OWGR. Thus far this season he has won the Hyundai Tournament of Champions and tied for second at the Valspar Championship. Since turning pro in 2011, Reed has become a mainstay on leaderboards, with four TOUR wins and 12 top-10 finishes since becoming a PGA TOUR member in 2013. This will be Reed’s fourth consecutive visit to TPC River Highlands.

Luke Donald, former No. 1 ranked player in the world and 2011 PGA TOUR Player of the Year, joins the Travelers Championship field for the first time in his nearly 15-year professional career. He has been on four Ryder Cup teams and has consistently been one of the best players on TOUR, with five wins and 74 top-10 finishes since 2002. He has one top-10 finish and two top-25 finishes this year, and is currently ranked No. 65 in the OWGR.

Making his first appearance at the Travelers Championship, Branden Grace will come to Connecticut looking to build upon his great 2015 PGA TOUR season. Grace is currently ranked No. 37 in the OWGR, and earned his first PGA TOUR top-10 finish when he tied for seventh at RBC Heritage in April. He followed it up with another top-10 finish at the WGC-Cadillac Match Play Championship. Grace has also seen success on the European Tour, where he has six tournament wins since 2012.

The Travelers Championship will take place from June 22 to 28 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn. Tickets are on sale now at www.TravelersChampionship.com.
