SEVEN TOP PLAYERS JOIN 2011 FIELD

WATNEY, CLARK, DUVAL, BADDELEY, MOORE, HOLMES AND VAN PELT COMMIT TO THE TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP

CROMWELL, Conn., June 14, 2011– The Travelers Championship announced seven more commitments to the 2011 field today by way of Nick Watney, Tim Clark, David Duval, Aaron Baddeley, J.B. Holmes, Ryan Moore and Bo Van Pelt. The tournament will be held June 20-26, less than a week away, at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn.

“We are pleased to announce these seven players for our field for 2011,” said Travelers Championship Tournament Director Nathan Grube. “The reputation of our tournament with the players continues to grow since Travelers took over as our title sponsor, and we are very excited to have some returning players from last year, as well as Clark and Duval who haven’t been to Cromwell in several years.”

Currently ranked 14th in the Official World Golf Rankings, Nick Watney has seven top-10 finishes in 2011 including a victory at the World Golf Championships – Cadillac Championship. Watney has three career wins on the PGA TOUR and is ranked 6th in the current regular season FedExCup standings. He will be making his fifth visit to TPC River Highlands and his best finish is a tie for ninth in 2005 and 2006.

South African Tim Clark will make his first trip since 2005 to Cromwell. THE PLAYERS Championship winner from 2010 is currently ranked 31st in the Official World Golf Rankings. His top finish in 2011 is a tie for second at the Sony Open in Hawaii.

David Duval will make his seventh trip to TPC River Highlands and first since 2003. Duval has 13 career PGA TOUR victories, including the 2001 British Open at Royal Lytham & St Annes Golf Club. In addition to his victories, he is only one of four American golfers to ever be ranked number one in the world, since the ranking began in 1986. His best finish at the Travelers Championship came in 1998, when he fired a 12- under 268 to tie for seventh.

Australian Aaron Baddeley has been one of the PGA TOUR’s most successful golfers in 2011 with four top-10 finishes and one victory in just 11 starts. Baddeley earned his third career PGA TOUR victory this year at the Northern Trust Open back in February. He is currently ranked 50th in the Official World Golf Rankings and is 15th in the 2011 FedExCup regular season standings. This will be his seventh trip to Connecticut’s PGA TOUR event next week.

Currently ranked 42nd in the Official World Golf Rankings, Ryan Moore has earned two top-five finishes in 2011. He has will be making his seventh trip to TPC River Highlands, which is a course that he has played well in recent years. In 2006, he finished tied for second and then finished tied for fourth in 2009.

J.B. Holmes who is currently ranked 55th in the Official World Golf Rankings has had a strong 2011, with four top-10 finishes in 11 events. Holmes has played in the Travelers Championship twice, in 2007 and 2008. He has two career PGA TOUR victories, both at the FBR Open in 2006 and 2008.

Bo Van Pelt will be making his ninth visit to TPC River Highlands. The course has treated him well, as he tied for sixth in 2007 and tied for ninth in 2009. Van Pelt who is currently ranked 43rd in the Official World Golf Rankings has played well in 2011, with five top-25 performances. He had a third-place showing at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial and a tie for eighth at The Masters Tournament. Van Pelt is coming off a 2010 season in which he made the cut in 24 of 28 events and finished 13th in the FedExCup standings.
