PAUL CASEY, PATRICK REED, CHARLEY HOFFMAN COMMIT TO 2018 TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP

HARTFORD, Conn., March 27, 2018 – The Travelers Championship today announced that Paul Casey, Patrick Reed and Charley Hoffman – three players among the top 30 in the Official World Golf Ranking who combined have 11 PGA TOUR victories – have committed to play in the 2018 tournament.

“These are great additions to our player field,” said Travelers Championship Tournament Director Nathan Grube. “Paul, Patrick and Charley are having strong seasons, have had prior success at TPC River Highlands and they’ve all won multiple times on the PGA TOUR.”

Paul Casey will be making his fourth consecutive appearance at the Travelers Championship. He finished second in his 2015 debut, after losing to Bubba Watson on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff. Casey then finished T17 at TPC River Highlands in 2016 and was T5 last year. He earned his second career win on the PGA TOUR at this year’s Valspar Championship. Casey, who is No. 13 in this week’s world ranking, also has 13 career victories on the European Tour and has played in the Ryder Cup for Team Europe three times (2004, 2006, 2008).

Patrick Reed tied for fifth at last year’s Travelers Championship, his best tournament showing in six starts. Reed has five victories in his TOUR career, most recently at The Barclays in 2016. In his past two stroke-play tournaments, Reed tied for second at the Valspar Championship, then was T7 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational. He is ranked No. 24 in the world and has represented the United States five times: twice in the Ryder Cup (2014, 2016), twice at the Presidents Cup (2015, 2017) and at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Charley Hoffman is coming off one of the best seasons in his TOUR career, which began in 2006. Hoffman set career bests in cuts made and money earned, matched his season high with seven top-10 finishes and played on the victorious U.S. Presidents Cup team in 2017. He has four TOUR victories and is No. 28 in the world rankings. In eight starts at the Travelers Championship, Hoffman has three finishes of seventh or better. He tied for second at TPC River Highlands in 2012 and was T3 in 2017.

Casey, Reed and Hoffman join a player field that already includes Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas and Bubba Watson. The 2018 Travelers Championship will be held June 18-24, and tickets are available. For more information on this year’s tournament, visit www.TravelersChampionship.com
