MAHAN WINS SHELL HOUSTON OPEN

HUMBLE, Texas, April 1, 2012 – Hunter Mahan earned his second PGA TOUR victory of the year today at the Shell Houston Open. Mahan shot a 1-under 71 in the final round to win by one shot over Carl Pettersson.

Mahan, who won the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship in February, is the first multiple winner on the PGA TOUR this year. The victory today moved Mahan to No. 4 in the Official World Golf Rankings, which makes him the top ranked American player heading into The Masters.

The 29-year-old Mahan earned his fifth career PGA TOUR victory and moved to No. 1 in the FedExCup standings. In seven starts in 2012, Mahan has six top-25 finishes.

The 2007 Travelers Championship winner will be back to TPC River Highlands this June, as he committed to the field back in early February. Fans can congratulate Hunter on his victory by clicking on the link below and sending a personal note to him.
