As a tournament intern you will play a key role in assisting all areas of tournament management. Each student will be assigned to a particular staff member, but will likely work on a variety of all-encompassing projects. Areas of responsibility will include, but are not limited, the positions below. These positions may be tailored to best match each intern, following the internship start date.

Spring Opportunities


Community Relations – Support the management of the tournament fundraising programs by organizing registrations, charity communication and website creation. This role will also help coordinate nonprofit outreach, charity donations and with the execution of various charity events throughout the year.


Sponsors & Sales Interns – Collaborate with sponsor relations and business development teams in tracking of tournament sponsors, execution of sponsor deliverables and working with ticket interns for fulfillment of sponsor ticket packages. This role will be trained in database tools including Kore and Archtics.


Volunteers – Assist with the organizing of the volunteer program, which consists of 4,000 volunteers and the executive committee leadership team. Will be in charge of communicating with volunteer chairs and volunteers on a regular basis and coordinate the management of the Volunteer Villa during tournament week.


Special Events & Pro-Ams – Assist with the planning and organization of 30+ special events throughout the year. This role will be responsible for distributing, gathering and organizing all event checklists and timelines and will be trained in the tournament’s CAD & Design Programs.


Tickets – Will manage the ticket distribution process including all corporate hospitality and sponsor ticket packages as well as general admission packages. Coordinate management of Will Call with volunteer chair and assist with gate operations. This role will be trained in database management tool – Archtics.


Logistics – Assist in set-up and maintenance of ISS 24/7 system and vendor database. Coordinate and communicate with various tournament vendors on scheduling, credentials, deliveries and supply needs. Be a main point of contact for tournament construction vendors and tournament deliveries. Assist in development of work plans to be used for set-up of Tournament Site. This role will trained in a support capacity on tournament’s CAD, scheduling and ISS 24/7 systems & serve as administrative support for the operations team.


Summer Opportunities


Media – Assist media team with pre-tournament materials, media credentialing process and photo ID program. Help manage the Media Center and interview schedules during tournament week.


Operations – A hands on and administrative role responsible for various tasks regarding the overall tournament set-up and breakdown. Assist with the coordination of various deliveries relating to tournament set up such as furniture, signage, radios, etc.


Tournament Headquarters – An administrative role that is responsible for greeting and problem solving for all guests to the tournament office at tournament site. This position also manages informational phone lines and emails, as well as support overall needs of office food & beverage program.
