BUBBA WATSON, JASON DAY & KEVIN STREELMAN COMMIT TO PLAY THE 2015 TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP

Two of the Top Five Ranked Golfers in the World Commit Early

HARTFORD, Conn., February 24, 2015 – The Travelers Championship announced today that Bubba Watson, Jason Day and Kevin Streelman have committed to play in the 2015 tournament. Watson and Day are both ranked in the top five in the Official World Golf Rankings (OWGR) and Streelman is the event’s defending champion. All three golfers are currently ranked in the top 20 in the PGA TOUR FedExCup standings.

“Having two of the top five players and our past champion commit this early is something we are extremely excited about,” said Nathan Grube, Travelers Championship Tournament Director. “We know our fans will be eager to see Bubba, Jason and Kevin compete at TPC River Highlands in June.”

Bubba Watson is currently ranked No. 2 in both the OWGR and FedExCup standings. Watson has started the 2015 season strong, winning the WGC-HSBC Championship, finishing second in the PGA Grand Slam and tying for second at the Waste Management Phoenix Open. Watson won the Travelers Championship in 2010, the first TOUR victory of his career, and added a pair of top-5 finishes at TPC River Highlands in 2012 and 2013. Since his first victory in 2010, Watson has won six times on TOUR – including at the Masters two out of the past three years – and placed in the top-10 in 25 TOUR events.

Jason Day is currently ranked No. 4 in the OWGR and No. 5 in the FedExCup standings. Day has started off 2015 strong with one victory and a third place tie. Since turning professional in 2006, Day has won three times on TOUR along with 39 top-10 finishes. Day has also excelled at the major championships where he has 7 top-10 finishes in only 17 starts. This will be Day’s second consecutive trip to the Travelers Championship, where he will try to improve on last year’s impressive top-20 finish.

Travelers Championship reigning champion Kevin Streelman is currently No. 20 in the FedExCup standings. Streelman’s Travelers Championship victory was unlike any other ever accomplished on the PGA TOUR. Streelman birdied his final seven consecutive holes, which made him the first to claim a PGA TOUR title in such a manner. His record-breaking win at the Travelers Championship was the second of his career since turning pro in 2001. So far this season, Streelman has one second place finish at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open and has made the cut in seven of ten events.

The Travelers Championship will take place from June 22 to 28 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Conn., and tickets are on sale now at www.TravelersChampionship.com.
