BRANDEN GRACE, BROOKS KOEPKA AND SHANE LOWRY COMMIT TO 2016 TRAVELERS CHAMPIONSHIP

HARTFORD, Conn., July 28, 2016 – The Travelers Championship today announced that Branden Grace, Brooks Koepka and Shane Lowry have committed to play in the 2016 tournament at TPC River Highlands.

“These three players are all ranked among the world’s top 30, and we’re thrilled that they’re coming to TPC River Highlands,” said Travelers Championship Tournament Director Nathan Grube.

Branden Grace is 12th in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR), and will be appearing for the second time at the Travelers Championship. Grace, a 28-year-old from South Africa, earned his first win on the PGA TOUR at this year’s RBC Heritage. He’s played well in major championships finishing T4 at the 2015 U.S. Open and third at the 2015 PGA Championship, then T5 at this year’s U.S. Open. Grace has seven victories on the European Tour, all coming in the past four years.

Brooks Koepka is currently 18th in the OWGR and has been among the top 20 players in the world for the past year. He won for the first time on the PGA TOUR at the 2015 Waste Management Phoenix Open, and has 15 top-10 finishes in 58 TOUR starts, including a T5 at the 2015 PGA Championship and a T4 at the 2014 U.S. Open. Koepka already has two runner-up finishes on TOUR this year, in back-to-back starts, and will be making his second appearance at the Travelers Championship.

Shane Lowry is making his Travelers Championship debut, and is ranked 28th in the OWGR. He had his best major championship showing at this year’s U.S. Open, where he took the outright lead into the final round before finishing in a tie for second. The 29-year-old from Ireland won the 2009 Irish Open as an amateur, and added another European Tour victory at the 2012 Portugal Masters. He claimed his first TOUR win at the 2015 Bridgestone Invitational.
